The cast of The Goldbergs lost a beloved co-star this week.
George Segal, who played Al “Pops” Solomon on the series, passed away on March 23rd due to complications from bypass surgery, his family confirmed.
“The family is devastated to announce that this morning George Segal passed away due to complications from bypass surgery,” his wife Sonia said in a statement, viaDeadline.
George‘s final episode of The Goldbergs is reportedly set to air on April 7th.
The stars who played his family on the show took to social media to remember their late co-star.
“Today we lost a legend. It was a true honor being a small part of George Segal’s amazing legacy. By pure fate, I ended up casting the perfect person to play Pops. Just like my grandfather, George was a kid at heart with a magical spark. I think these memories say it all…” Goldbergs creator Adam F Goldberg shared on Twitter.
