Ryan McKenna had a very big brush with fame last night after snapped the now viral selfie with Justin Timberlake during his halftime show at the 2018 Super Bowl.
During an interview with Good Morning America this morning, the 13-year-old student opened up about his experience at the game and the surprise of Justin’s performance.
“He just came up and I just jumped right in there with him and he stopped right in our row, so it was perfect,” Ryan shared.
“I had a video going, and my phone shut off,” he explained about why he was looking down at his phone for that viral shot. “That’s why I was on my phone. I love him. He’s my favorite singer, and I had to get the selfie with him.”
After the moment, Ryan says that he gained a TON of followers — almost 8,000 new followers on social media.
“All the media just rushed me, and it was crazy,” he said. “It was definitely a great opportunity. This is insane, like, this is crazy that I got to meet him and get a picture with him ’cause he’s awesome.”
