Alexa Vega has officially filed for divorce from Sean Covel, TMZ reports.
The 23-year-old actress “filed docs in L.A. Superior Court recently … citing irreconcilable differences” with Sean, a producer.
“Here is to new adventures in our lives. #embracechange” she tweeted earlier this morning.
Alexa and Sean married in 2010 in South Dakota. You can check out their wedding pics on JJJ.
They also adopted a new puppy together, Ramona Flowers.
Thoughts go out to Alexa and Sean during this difficult time.

The 23-year-old actress, who accessorized her look with lia sophia Hoopla earrings, recently spoke with the Los Angeles Wave about her role as Gabby Rodriguez in The Pregnancy Project.
“It [was] truly amazing to see Gabby go through what’s she’s gone through,” Alexa shared. “She is such a bright, smart, articulate young woman, and for her to come up with this well-thought out plan at just 17 years old, and not only convince her mother to feel comfortable to go through something as stressful and emotional as this, and to convince your principal and teachers, you have to have a really strong message that you want to send and I think she sent it.”

The 23-year-old actress brought along husband Sean Covel to the annual holiday concert.

Recently chatting with MovieWeb, Alexa opened up about growing up on the Spy Kids set: “With Spy Kids, we were so lucky. We had such an unreal experience. We were truly family. Growing up on a set is completely different than coming onto a brand new set for the first time. You are learning the ropes of that set. You are meeting the crew for the first time. You are getting to know the people that you are working with. With these movies, we did so many of them with the same crew, because Robert Rodriguez uses the same crew on every film.”
Alexa added, “It was a family experience. You would hang out with everybody, and you would hang out with everyone’s family. They bring their kids on set. It was almost like a summer camp. It was the most extreme example of a summer camp that you could possibly have. When that ended with Spy Kids 3D: Game Over, there were a lot of tears shed.”

Alexa Vega and husband Sean Covel keep close together as they attend The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 premiere held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Monday night (November 14) in Los Angeles.
The two are really close friends with star Nikki Reed and her new husband, Paul McDonald. In fact, they both served as matron of honor and best man at the couple’s recent nuptials!

Alexa, 23, just wrapped filming on The Pregnancy Project in Vancouver. She’ll star as Gaby Rodriguez, a seventeen-year-old who attended a Washington state high-school and made her senior school project the treatment of pregnant teenagers by pretending to be pregnant.
FYI: Alexa wore a cute Finders keepers romper with Louboutin heels. She completed her look with an Ourboros designs bracelet, Lia Sophia ring and a JJ Winters clutch.

With a little help from a couple of very familiar Spy Kids, Carmen (Vega) and Juni Cortez (Daryl Sabara), and some mind-blowing gadgets, they just may be able to save the world and possibly bring their family together while they’re at it.
The new action flick is being shot entirely in Austin and will be released in 3-D on August 19, 2011.
Along the way, the Spy Kids franchise has featured familiar faces including Emily Osment, Taylor Momsen and Ryan Pinkston.

The adorable couple tied the knot TODAY in South Dakota surrounded by their family and friends. Alexa wore a gorgeous studded Ian Stuart gown.
Among the bridal party were Austin Butler (honorary ring bearer), Camilla Belle (bridesmaid) and Robert Rodriguez (He gave the bride away!).
Alexa shared in a recent interview about getting married so young, “My mom got married at 18 and started having kids at 20. I always thought that’s what was going to happen to me. But I’m a little more invested in my career than I thought I was going to be at this age and I’m happy everything is going the way I want it.”
Vying for the cutest couple ever award, Alexa Vega and fiance Sean Covel strike a pose with the JJJ coasters as they attend the 2010 Multicultural Learning Center Harmony Gala Benefit Dinner held at Pickwick Gardens in Burbank on Saturday evening (March 13).
The 21-year-old actress spoke with us last night at the dinner about how her wedding plans are coming so far. Alexa shared, “It’s a little crazy. I had no idea how tough it really is. Sean is a wonderful man and producer, so he gets how tough it is and the just really gets the planning.”
Alexa also opened up about how many times people come and ask to see her ring, saying, “It’s just recent. We kept it a secret for a little while, so that was nice. We had our quiet time with it, and now it’s out…I love showing it off. I will show this off for the rest of my life.”
